Second week...

This week we had one faithful person that came every day except the last. We are not in the least discouraged by this because that was one person we were able to help all week.

We had some very important meetings with some local professionals and we were well received by them all. They each wanted to work with us and of course we with them.

We have the feeling we are going to be on a learning curve for quite a little while here. We expect every day to learn more than one thing. The biggest thing we have learned is the power of prayer. This non-profit has increased my own prayer life and has given me so very much opportunity to learn patience.

I know I have mentioned to you all already that notes to self socks (www.notestoself.com/) gave to us at least 60 pairs of socks because they have wanted to be sure that every single person who walks through our door will get their own pair. I have LOVED handing these out to the ladies we have seen and their favorite sock was......"I have HOPE." People are searching and looking for hope, and I think it is pretty cool that that is the first word in our recovery kitchen.

I know I already mentioned a shout out to all the restaurants that have given free meals to us to use whenever we decide to our clients out for a challenge meal. May I just say I love living in Greenville where community and helping others grow is more important than anything else.

This is a picture of our new handmade sign so that people can find us a little bit more easily. We only have it out when we are there. We have one more week at Mulberry Street then we will be located somewhere else during the month of February.

There has been another Airbnb that has given a tremendous discount to be in her home, and we are extremely grateful for this. We will be there on the first week of February, then a one week break and then the last two weeks of February. The break up in the middle of the month is there because she already had that week booked before we even came to her about her home. We are very grateful for what she has given to us.

Next week, we will have our biggest turnout yet for a talk by Jamie Martin LPC with Three Springs, that is free to our eating disorder community. She will get to share a little about what she offers, and also the people coming will get to meet a new professional here in our city. It is good for both of us, but the best thing about it is, this is our first community outreach meeting, and we are happy about the turnout.

Also next week, we will be hosting a lunch for a few individuals with SCEDA, CRC for ED, and Riley Wellness Group. This is a really special treat for us to be able to talk to these people about our kitchen.
